Unter dem Titel „Adamdar“ , zu deutsch Menschen präsentiert Nellya Dzhamanbaeva an zwei aufeinanderfolgenden Abenden  6 zum Teil preisgekrönte Dokumentarkurzfilme aus ihrer Heimat Kyrgyzstan, Geschichten von und über Menschen, Schicksale, Leben und harte Arbeit und die Politik dahinter.

Alle Filme in Originalsprache mit englischen Untertiteln. Publikumsgespräche mit den Regisseuren über VTC jeweils am Ende des Abends.

Besonderer Gast ist Adilet Karzhoev, Regisseur des preisgekrönten Films „Black Wagon“ am 31.3.2023

19:00  DORDOY CITY by Tomiris Orozoeva (15:34 minutes)

The biggest market in Central Asia, Dordoi bazaar, is a workplace for over 150 thousand people. They trade, eat, pray, and live there. The film portrays the place and its ambiance through fragments of its inhabitants. At the same time, the bazaar is a metaphor for the broader Kyrgyz society.

 19:30 I AM WALKING ON A GOOD DAY by Danil Usmanov  (16 minutes)

Gainutdinov Nurislam Garifovich, former director of the photographer association in Toktogul fell into decay with tecnological change in photography. He left the city and has been living with his wife and 3 dogs for 16 years in a shack on the banks of the Toktogul water reservoir. He lives from fish poaching, but there is almost no fish left. However, Nurislam continues to fish every morning in the hope for a catch.

A team of miners working at 500m below surface must complete a daily target, but it gets harder and harder to reach the coal without leaving the safe zone. The foreman decides to take the risk.

Followed by an exchange with Film Director Adilet Karzhoev (presence tbc)
